POSITION SUMMARY
With a team of close to 20 dedicated Engineers, the advanced audio division is responsible for all R&D and HW product development in the Audio and Acoustics field at RIM. Reporting to the Director of Audio and Acoustics the Audio Electronics Engineer will have design responsibility for Audio circuits and Schematics (in the BlackBerry products). This will include: cost optimal driver circuits for receiver, loudspeakers, microphones as well as headsets. The incumbent will also participate in and review PCB/PWB layouts for optimum performance and minimal EMI sensitivity. The candidate will also minimize any audible audio noise in the designs and conduct design verification and troubleshooting in the lab. Moreover the candidate will define requirements for audio electronics (such as Codec's and amplifiers in future chipsets) and continuously drive optimization of performance and board space and cost.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Three to six years’ experience from design of audio electronics circuitry in highly integrated portable devices, preferably mobile phones or other devices where high EMI/EMC sustainability is a must
• Good ability to work on several projects in parallel
• Solid knowledge in electronics testing and troubleshooting
• Proven knowledge of the factors that contribute to excellent perceived audio performance
• B.Sc/M.Sc
